Franklin Pillow Platform Bed, in solid Walnut Wood
Features
Beds utilize wooden bolt hole covers that are held in place by rare earth magnets or classic brass covers, as seen on the Pencil Post Bed.
Pinned Mortise and Tenon Joint *contrasting wood used to highlight joint Beds feature pinned mortise and tenon joints at headboard rails and legs and footboard rails and legs. The joints are pinned from the inside so the leg is visually unimpaired from the front. The side rails and legs are connected using dry mortise and tenon joinery (no glue or pins) coupled with bed bolts. This allows the bed to be disassembled for moving. These unions make for an extremely strong and rigid bed while allowing the bed to be easily taken apart.
The beauty and figure of solid wood is the show in my furniture. Simple lines allow the grain to be the focal point. The pillow reference in the name is taken because the headboard is gently tapered on all four sides to soften its look. Notice the bolt hole covers share this design. This is a hefty piece of solid walnut.
